Nikon lens repair possible?
On a rough airline flight several months ago my lens became damaged. I know it is too late to file a claim with the airline. One of the plastic lugs that the camera uses to lock on to the lens is broken off. I didn't notice it right away because I switched lenses shortly after the flight and haven't tried to use that lens again until today. Anyway the lens will not install on the camera.
Anyway does anyone know if that kind of damage to the lens can be fixed? The closest factory authorized repair facility is over 200 miles away so it would have to be shipped.
Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED
Mail it in for repair.
It can be fixed. Contact Nikon and get an estimate. Compare that with a used lens price.
