NIKKOR LENS BROKEN APERTURE BLADES

So, i was unlucky enough to have my camera fell on the floor and seems that the aperture blades are either broken or unplugged from the lens, "dancing" inside them. I'm taking it to Nikon service but i'm wondering if the 2 year warranty can cover this damage. Can this be fixed? A guy told me that 99% it can't and the lens are useless! I'm really depressed with the damage, i don't even know if thats a serious matter or something mino that can be easily fixed, please help:/ Lens are Nikkor 18-105mm

That's some serious damage there on the lens and I won't be surprised if something was wrong too in the camera already. Have both checked. You would most probably be recommended to buy a new lens though.

Nikon will refuse to repair any lens with impact damage (dropped) under warranty. Once you send it in, Nikon will contact you with it's decision and at what cost. At which point, you can either refuse it or accept it. I'm guessing the repair cost will far exceed the price of the lens new.

No, it is not an easy fix…

You will have to take it to a camera repair centre and see what they say.

Warranties don't cover dropping a camera!

Get a repair quote - that's the only way to tell if it's worth fixing, if it's going to cost too much, just buy a new lens.

Hopefully the drop didn't damage the camera, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did. Really cameras are not designed to be dropped.
