Nikkor ai lens to Panasonic gh3 micro 4/3 lens mount adapter?

I just bought a Panasonic GH3 and I wanted to use some old Nikkor ai lenses I bought. I bought a "fotodiox" Nikon to Om 4/3 lens mount adapter. I was under the impression that Olympus's micro 4/3 mount was the same as Panasonic's, but when my camera arrived today it is definitely not compatible. Could any one help me find the right Adapter? And one more question. I find a lot of lens adapters that are very long. Won't those affect the focal length and my crop factor? I bought one that was specifically very small with no added distance between the lens and the sensor. Also do I need and active mount for the aperture control? Not for the auto focus though since the ai lenses don't have that feature. Thanks so much!

P.s. I will add a link to the mount I bought for referance.

You bought the 4/3rds DSLR adapter, not the micro 4/3rds EVIL adapter which you need.

The long adapters do affect the back-focus, they compensate for an EVIL camera's lack of a mirror-box. Many such adapters limit the lens to fully-open aperture.

The 4/3rds mounts are the same except for the ones used on the mirrorless micro 4/3rds cameras.

Why would you buy Nikkor lenses when you don't have a Nikon camera system. That makes no sense.

The adapter you bought is NOT for your Micro Four Thirds GH3. Nowhere does it say anything about Micro Four Thirds. It does say: "… Lens mount adapter… To OM 4/3 (Four Thirds) camera." Without the key word "Micro" preceding "Four Thirds" its the wrong adapter.

This is from the last paragraph of the announcement of the Micro Four Thirds system as found at this site: http://www.dpreview.com/...fourthirds

"The Four Thirds system standard is an open standard that enables bodies and lenses produced by participating manufacturers to exchange information and be used interchangeably with one another."

So rest assured that Olympus and Panasonic Micro Four Thirds mounr lenses are fully interchangeable.
