I was planning to get a cheap yet good lens as i'm a student, so i thought to buy nikkor 50mm f1.8G and that was around £140 inclufing PNP
what i really did, i bought:
1) Nikon Dx zoom Nikkor 55-200mm f4.0-5.6 AF-S VR IF G ED
2) Nikkor 50mm 1.8D
Did i make a good decision ir a bad one?
P.S. I don't mind focusing manually with 1.8D. What do you guys say?

If you don't mind manually focussing, then I don't see what the problem is. I'm old enough to remember a time when there was no such thing as autofocus at all. It didn't cause a problem then!

If it's annoying you, return it and get the 50mm with the autofocus.

What quality are you getting out of the images taken with this set up needs to be your benchmark
Is it producing good/better quality than you were producing before? Are you able to capture stuff you couldn't before?
If it meet that then it is a good buy especially if you are spending sub £150
