Is this a depiction of a Nikon DSLR camera?

Is this a depiction of a Nikon, Canon or neither?

I was looking at it as a gift for a Canon user but someone has suggested that it depicts a Nikon?

It is a camera. That is all there's to it.

No, I would say it depicts a Canon more than a Nikon. Nikon's "Color" if you will is yellow. All their stock carrying straps have the logo and trim in yellow, whereas Canon's are all red. As for the actual design of the camera, it's too general to say it looks more like one or the other.

That red triangle under the shutter button is a Nikon trademark.

But the red ring around the lens looks like Canon.

It's a Canikon.

Definitely Nikon dSLR because of the red swoosh on the top part of the grip. Not that accurate though but very distinctive.
