Is it worth to buy Nikon D5200?

I'm planning on buying my first DSLR camera and I was wondering if Nikon D5200 is worth it's price or are there any other cameras with the same price, but with better specs?

Ten minutes after you decide there will be another camera with even better specs and price. I will say that I have used ans shot Nikon for a very long time, their glass is excellent, ergonomics first rate and flash tech better than all the rest. And their products are robust little beasts that can stand up to a bit of knock around.

The D5200 is a great camera to start with. And will take years to master.

Specs don't make a good camera. The D5200 is just another ho-hum dSLR from Nikon. They are totally asleep at the wheel. For the money, get a Pentax K 30 it is a better dSLR after that, look at Sony's A57
