Good photography cameras? - 1
I'm taking up media A level and sadly my cute purple Nikon camera doesn't make the cut. We've been told we'll need to take our own photos for our project and I have looked around online but I'm not really good at the camera technology. But I wanted to know if anyone knows any really good photography cameras.
There are thousands of good cameras but the skill in taking a good photograph lies with the photographer.
Cameras range from £50 to £5, 000 and you don't say what your budget is. Also, do you want a Compact a Bridge or a DSLR?
Stick with the recognised camera manufactures such as Canon, Nikon, Pentax or Fuji.
Go into a store and look at their range then decide which one suits you best.
In addition, ask your teacher what type of camera you need to buy and get some photography magazines( there are dozens issued each month). Read all about the different types to get an idea of what they each do. You will also get a load of good tips about composition, exposure and focussing.
My daughter is doing A level photography and was advised by her teacher that she would need a DSLR, i completely agree, they are more expensive but they are superior to any kind of point and shoot or bridge camera.
Of course then you have to decide which one which can be daunting because there are so many, the thing to do is decide your budget which should include any additional lenses you will need and then explore your options.
Canon, Nikon, Pentax and Sony all make great DSLR models and you don't have to buy brand new, being new to DSLR photography you would probably suit one that is entry level.
My daughter is using the Canon EOS 700D, she did what I did when I chose all of my cameras and this is what I advise if you do buy new, you take a memory card to the shop and ask them to take you through the basics of each model in your budget, test shoot each one but do not buy on the day.
Take your memory card home and view the images to see which you like best, read reviews, compare the features and then decide.
We're all different and we all need different things from a camera, i shoot with the Nikon D7000 but that is still quite expensive and also pretty advanced for a complete beginner, my daughter chose the Canon for it's ease of use as well as the quality of image but I think it lacks colour depth.
Thing is we all have an opinion but it doesn't mean we're right, choose the one that suites your needs and budget, not the one that someone else shoots with and loves.
DSLR? Too much? This one then.
When choose a camera look at it's ergonomic - DSLR camera is quite heavy. Camera must have video capability - this is required in modern journalism. An alternative to SLR cameras are mirrorless cameras they are lighter and more compact than DSLR.
Canon Powershot A801 is my camera and it is only about £50 now in Argos and I really like the camera for value it is brilliant and it takes good photos and I do photography like obsessively and I prefer it to my Dads bridge which was around £150. Cannon cameras are definetly my favourite the lenses are really good quality.
