Will the shengu sg 108 shotgun mic work with my nikon d3100?

I have a nikon d3100 and the sg108 shotgun mic says it will work on my camera but people say it doesn't work without an external mic jack or something. Will it work to make the sound better?

Does the camera have a 3.5 mm import port?

I know the D3200 has such a port, but not the D3100.
