Yes as long as you do not mind manually focusing the lens using the cameras electronic rangefinder

Yes. Nikon's 50mm f1.4 AIS still holds up well to the 50mm f1.4 lenses of today. Manual focus on a digital body can be a challenge at first, but you get quite proficient and accurate with practice, so long as your peepers are 20/20 or better.
