Why does my Nikon D3200 only record for 3 - 7 seconds?

I had this problem before and I'm sure that I did something on my camera and It went back to normal.
But I think I must have accidently pressed something again and it has gone back to only recording for seconds, and then it says "Recording interrupted. Please wait"

No this is not a camera setting.

Two things come to mind. First, did you format the memory card in the camera? Not in the computer but in the camera? If not do that now.

Second, what's the speed of your card? If it's not class 10 then replace it. HD video creates a huge data stream that requires a very fast card to record correctly.

Perhaps you changed the recording resolution. If you are now recording in full HD, either change back to a lower resolution or get a faster SD card.

Another possibility is that you have deleted some pix from the card. Either delete them all or format the card; save what you want to keep to your computer first.

Use Class 10 SDHC memory cards and format each time before shooting the video.

You will be limited to around 15 minutes or so (check the manual). If you want longer, use the right tool - digital camcorder (like the Sony Handycam).
