I want a good tripod for my camera. Tripod should be of height around 5'8" i don't want a medium sized or small tripod. My budget is max Rs. 2500/- ($41)

It is very tempting to buy a cheap, light tripod, and in fact for very small/light cameras that is usually good enough.

The bigger the camera, the more sturdy your tripod needs to be. Don't forget that you may some day want to upgrade to an even bigger camera, or bigger lenses, so it might be wise to buy a tripod that can handle that, too.

However, it also depends on where you're shooting with it. Believe it or not, if you are outside doing landscapes, wind can move your tripod unless it is a very sturdy model.

Another important consideration is height. You won't enjoy standing there very stooped over for any length of time, and it is best if you don't need to extend it all the way to make it a good height for you.

If you're really looking for quality, the brand" Bogen/Manfrotto" is very highly regarded.
A couple of other handy things: 1) a hook at the bottom of the center column that lets you hang something heavy on it - such as your camera bag - for added stability and 2) a center column that you can take out, then re-insert horizontally - wonderful for shooting straight down (or UP for that matter) over the top of something that would normally be hard to get to.

Sadly, YOUR budget is VERY low, so you'll just have to buy whatever you can find for that price at a place like Walmart, or whatever the Indian equivalent for it is.

I'm with Selina on this one…

If you know what you want… Then you really don't need to post the question… Just walk into a camera store and buy it…

Every time I read your question it sounds like you are making demands… Not asking a question.

Go for the Slik F 740 tripod. I'm using it with my Canon EOS 600 D. It is sturdy and comes at a good price. It also has got lifetime warranty. So you can go for it without a doubt.

Price = Rs 2490 @ Flipkart

Do you really want to trust your expensive DSLR on a cheap tripod?

Not only will a tripod in that price range will be wobbly (and really not do the job), it can also easily break and dump your camera on the ground.

For your budget, look for a Gorillapod - the model that will hold a DSLR.

Cameras are not tripod-specific if you go to the right store and $41 is relatively small and on the cheap side.
