What wide angle and macro lenses for Nikon D3100?

I'm looking to buy some new lenses for my Nikon D3100. Mainly a macro lens and a wide angle. I'm fairly new to both of these and am looking for any advice on what i should look for. I don't have a large budget unfortunatley and was shown these two lenses which i would appreciate any opinions of!
Cheers!

The first is an excellent macro lens.

The second won't autofocus on a D3100, and won't do anything your existing (I hope) 18-55mm can't do.

A wide angle I can recommend is the Sigma 10-20mm. For macro, I'd go for the Sigma 50mm f2.8 macro (also makes a great portrait lens).

Example Sigma 10-20mm;

I have both & use them on a D300.

Are you not getting the AF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6G DX kit lens? The kit lens will do the wide angle job quite well.

As to the 40mm f2.8 micro, it's a good lens but you'll better off spending more on a Sigma 105mm f2.8 EX HSM, as this lens will let you work further away while getting the same magnification.
