There's no international warranty.
There's no better… Only which is better for you. Both cameras do the same thing the same way. Both have very good picture quality, and are very similar in all other aspects.
Kits will have a choice of lenses is the only difference. I don't know which Kit 1 and Kit 2 you are referring to, so not much help there. Better lenses will raise the cost of the kit, but even the standard kit 18-55 IS is a good lens to start with.

The Nikon D3100 is better, with higher image quality and lower noise at high ISO.
It is also better for video as it is full 1080p HD. Compared to 720p HD on the Canon and the Canon can't autofocus on video.
