What filter sizes work for my camera?

I have a nikon d3100 dslr camera and i was looking to buy some filters. How do i know which filter size will fit my lenses? I have the 18-55mm lense and the 55-200mm lense. I have a 52mm UV filter that fits so will they fit as long as they are within that lenses range? For example, could i buy a 58mm macro filter and will it fit in my 55-200mm lense? How can i tell which ones work before i buy online?

You either have not looked at the filter threads on your lens, or you just do not understand some of the basics of photography

Both the 18-55 mm and 55-200 mm lens uses a 52 mm filter. The filter does not have to change its size as you use the zoom lens.

That means that a 58 mm filter will NOT fit on either of your lenses. You need to buy 52 mm filters
