Video recording on the nikon D7000 (autofocus)?

Hi there i'm just wondering about the auto focusing on the nikon D7000 when recording. Does the lens automatically keep focusing on your subject WITHOUT you having to hold down a button, or do you need to hold down the shoot button half way down all the time? Keeping in mind i have set the camera to autofocus on the camera as well on the lens.

Hold down the button. But it will take ages and the sound will be horrible. You need to learn to MF if you want to do video. No one autofocuses on video on a DSLR.

Josh I can tell you from personal experience. I have a camera that does auto focus during video and it's terrible. The focus jumps around all the time trying to find a subject. Too bad this camera is old 640 technology and that I can't turn off the auto focus.

I also have a Canon t1i and it doesn't do auto focus during video - thanks very much. With this one, and I'm assuming the Nikon, you can focus prior to rolling video or you can run it on manual - and manual is the only way I'll run.
