Red stripe on grip of cameras?

I've noticed a lot of people have dslrs with a red stripe, is it just for a certain brand or series.

P.S: Should I get the nikon d3100?

All the Nikon dSLR cameras have the red accent just below the shutter release.

If you can raise you budget a little, the D3200 is a much more advanced camera

It's a Nikon trademark - many who buy low-end Nikons can't read (well they sure as h*ll can't read the manual).

Only Nikon dSLR's have it. Other brands don't. Should you get the D3100? Do you know what the relationship of aperture size and shutter speed has with medium sensitivity and amount of light? If not then don't. That is unless you are prepared to spend time to learn to.
