What I think Photographe is saying… They are both good cameras. Take your pick!

They will both produce image way beyond your skills for many years. What most beginners fail to realize when looking for a camera is that their skills is the weakest link in terms of image quality. If you have very little experience, your photos will look no different if you are using one of the cameras you listed, of a beginner's model like a Canon t4i, or Nikon d3200.

No the D800 is not better than the 5D Mark III. The 5D Mark III is not better than the D800. They both have their pros and cons.

You bet 8)! Better image quality indeed: With higher resolution and still lower noise at high ISO!
Even trough the canon videos are considered better, D800 goes sharper and gets true image, not false white balance *** as mark III has on videos and photos as well… Btw: better color depth. I'd go with D800 8)
