Nikon d7000 successor?

I've read that the successor to the nikon d7000 will arrive before April. When it does arrive, how much time will it take before I see the d7000 drop in price in camera stores and amazon? Will it drop?

The problem with this theory is that it doesn't work that way.

Those sellers bought those cameras for x amount of money, and have to sell it at x+ something to make a profit. Margins (the amount between what they paid and what they charge you) are not huge to begin with, so the price isn't going down more than a token amount for quite a while. They may take $20 off just to say they lowered the price, but it isn't going to drop to $500 over night. Actually, it won't drop that far at all, anytime soon. Maybe in 5 years.

Don't count on it. Nikon's tend to hold their value. Like the D40. After it was discontinued, it was selling for higher than it did when it was new.
The D7000 is a great camera. I don't see it going down in price that much.
