Nikon d7000 focusing: A/M switches?

Hi! On the nikon d7k, there's a switch on the lower right front of the body for manual and auto focusing since it has a built in focusing motor. Does this mean that when shooting in auto mode (with my lens on auto), I must switch both the button on the camera and the one on the lens to change to manual shooting?

The switch on the body is more for use with some of the older AF lenses that didn't have the switch on the lens a swell. When using a lens with an A/M switch, make sure that the switches are both in the same position or you could damage the AF motor

Many older lenses came equipped with an autofocus system, but did not have a motor (eg. Tamron AF 80-210 1:4.5-5.6). Compatible cameras, such as the D7000 itself, have a motor that, using a drive shaft which connects to the lens at the mount, drives its autofocus system.

The switch is given to be able to control the settings for such on the fly. For lenses which have an AF/MF button built in, it is that button which provides the control. There's no ambiguity.
