NIKON D3100 LENS COMPATIBILITY?

I JUST BOUGHT A NIKON D3100 AND WOULD LIKE TO UPGRADE TO A TELEPHOTO LENS WHAT OTHER LENSES ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THIS CAMERA OR DO I HAVE TO USE A NIKON LENS

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HOLD SHIFT OR PRESS CAPSLOCK TO GET THE POINT ACROSS FYI
the D3100 will autofocus with all Nikkor AF-S and AF-I lenses.pretty much any F mount for nikon cameras will fit, as Nikon has not changed their mount in over 50 years. Whether they can autofocus or not depends on if they have an AF motor
