NEED LENS FOR NIKON D800?

NEED LENS FOR NIKON D800?
Added (1). I'm getting the Nikon D800. I need a lens for Senior Photos and wedding photos on the dance floor which means lower lighting on the dance floor. Preferably under $1,000 Thanks!

There's one lens that will do what you want.
Nikkor AF-S 24-70 mm f/2.8.
You will have t raise your budget a bit.
Setting a budget and then looking for a lens can be an exercise in frustration. The best way is to find out what the lens you need costs and then budget for it. If it takes a few more months to put the money together, that is fine, since you will be using that lens for decades

I'm thinking two lenses. The first is an 85mm f/1.8 for most of your needs, at about $500.

And for the closer shots, the 35mm f/1.8 at about $600.

Buy the D610 and 24-70/2,8

If you only afford $1000, try to find a used 28-70 f/2.8
if you have not get the d800 yet then get d610 and 24-70 f/2.8 like the other suggested.
