My Camera Lens is stuck! - 1

Alexandra

I'm using a Nikon D3100 with the Nikkor 50mm 1.8d lens, and the lens won't come off the body!

I don't know if I just got a faulty lens, or if I'm doing something wrong, but I'm removing it in the same way that I've done with all of my other lenses: pressing down the release button and twisting in the direction that brings the two white dots together. I've been trying to get it off for days, and I've been very careful not to pull or grip it too hard.
It just won't let go! What do I do?

Go to a specialized store or repair shop and ask them.

The best thing to do is to take it into a local camera shop (not bestbuy or walmart).

It sounds like the lens is mounted slightly askew. It would not be the first time they have seen this. This is something they would fix for free. Just remember two very important things to say… "Please" and "Thank you" (and maybe buy a memory card to show your appreciation).
