Is this a right time to buy a D-SLR camera?

I want to know if this is right time to buy DSLR camera of either Nikon (D3200 ~$599 ) or Cannon T3i ~ $599 with 1 lens. If i wait for 1-2 months, will the price go down by $100 - 150?

DSLRs never seem to get especially cheap, and make sure it's actually a good lens, often the cheapest single lense kit isn't a great lense, worth buying one in a reputable shop who know what's worth spending money on! Mind you it will over time go down but I doubt it will change in a few months, not as rapidly moving as other technology!

Probably after the new year, those cameras will go back to their old prices.

Buy the one you want now and don't look back.

The list price for the D3200 is $700 and the same for the T3i/600D

i don't see them going down in price again.

For sure the D3200 won't go down for at least a year or more. I doubt the T3 will go down that much in the next couple months. Maybe if Canon announces a T4, but that isn't rumored that I know of.

Get your camera. The sooner you start learning photography, the better.

New models are coming along all the time. When they do the model that they replace is sold off at a discount. It is a never ending cycle.

If you are happy to buy yesterday's camera (or car or TV or cellphone or etc etc etc) then you can get a bargain. I bought my camera that way. If you wait for today's camera to become yesterday's camera then you will wait for ever.

If you wait for the next Black Friday sale or the next New Year sale or whatever you will always be looking ahead to the next "$100" discount by which time a new model has come along and you will be waiting for the price of that to drop.

Result is the same - you are stuck without a camera!

Carpe diem! Buy now and once you have bought it at a price you are happy with STOP LOOKING - you will only upset yourself!
