I want to see camera live view on my laptop?

Camera nikon d3100.
what are the possible ways?

If it is a windows make shure your camera is ON and pluged in then go to my computer click under scanners and cameras choose your camera and double click the it should pop up

Use a tv tuner card in your lappy, Connect the output of camera hdmi cable to input of tv tuner. And you are done.

I don't know about Nikon, but my canon came with software that allows me to see live-view, and control my camera from my pc (when connected via USB)

Yes and no.

Nikon has a software called Camera Control Pro 2 ($180) which allows live view for certain Nikon DSLRs. Unfortunately, it will not support the D3xxx entry level cameras.

However, there's a freeware called "Nikontrol 3K" that was designed to work with the D3000 (and may work with the D3100). I have not tried it, but if you google "Nikontrol 3K" you will find where to download it. Won't hurt to try.
