How to get maximum results when recording on a Nikon d3100?

I bought this camera little over a year ago but I want to start recording videos for YouTube on it.

Basically, I'm unsure what settings it should be on and it doesn't seem to be on the right setting. So. I want to record myself where it's focused on me and watching the videos back on my computer my voice doesn't seem synced with the video? So please someone help me sort this problem out.

I want to do reviews and tutorials but I can't with a blurry camera quality!

The steps on page 45 of your manual are quite clear on what you should do.

The primary reason for sound being out of sync with the video has to do with how fast the computer can process the video and sound.

My guess is that you have a rather slow computer with minimal RAM

My colleague uses a computer with an Intel i7 CPU and 12 gb of RAM and a combination of a very fast 1 tb hard drive pared with a 32 mb SSD

Make a copy of your video on a DVD and try playing it on one of your friends fast computers.

Actually if you want the best sound, you need to use what is called dual sound recording.

The external sound recorder will record pristine sound and that sound can later be synced using the crummy sound recorded by the camera.

For piece of mind, you can use a Directors clapboard at the beginning of each take.

Shoot under great lighting conditions.
