How to do night photography?

What setting do you use? I have a nikon d7000. Any tips?

You decided to invest in a d7000 before actually learning about photography!

Anyway you want to use a tripod and a slow shutter speed, and a low ISO, aperture is to preference

Get a heavy, professional tripod. Should cost over $100. Buy a good one now and it will outlast many cameras.

Time you got down to your local library or bookshop and got hold of a book on basic photography.

There are NO magic settings, it all depends on the prevailing conditions at the time and what "effect" you want.
