One year from date of purchase, if you bought it from an Authorized Nikon Dealer and it's not a grey market camera. If it is (note: incredibly cheap price from a mailorder dealer), then Nikon won't touch it, nor repair it, even if you pay for the service. Be sure you've registered your camera online with Nikon.

Oh, and just a reminder - the factory warranty covers manufacturer's defects is design or manufacture, not user accidents.
