How do I know what lenses are compatible with my camera?
I have a Nikon d3000 if that helps!
All Nikkor AF-I, AF-S and AF-P lenses are completely compatible with your entry level Nikon D3000
If you do not mind manually focusing your lenses, then all the Nikkor AF lenses are compatible as well.
The advantage of the more expensive Nikon cameras, Nikon D90, Nikon 7XXX, Nikon D300, D500 and any of the full frame Nikon cameras is that they can also use all the old Nikkor manual focus AI lenses.
There's a list at the back of the Nikon D3000 user manual which lists all the compatible lenses
Nikon D3000 reference manual pages 157 -- 161 Nikon D3000 user manual page 47 I have the same DSLR camera and any Nikon lens that says it's fit for the d3000 All the Nikkor or Nikon mount lenses are compatible with your camera. You follow the brand of your camera. Yours is Nikon hence your camera is compatible to all lenses with the Nikon mount.
There are different levels of compatibility however especially with your camera model. Your D3000 will mount any Nikon F-mount lens but it will autofocus only with AF-S and AF-I spec'd lenses. For more issues, check this link below.
