If you google Nikon D300 flashing CF light it seems to be a recurring problem with that camera. Some say a two button reset and reinstall the latest firmware fixes it. Some say a trip to Nikon is imminent.
I would actually probably call Nikon for assistance.
Hopefully the Nikon guys will have better info for you!

You recharged your Li-ion battery using the battery charger. That light blinks amber while charging and the stops blinking when filly charged.

The green light on the back of the camera blinks under various conditions.

When an image is writing to the CF card, when you attach the battery grip to the camera and when inserting a CF card and when turning on the camera.

Why is this bothering you?

The green light just tells you that you camera is alive, when it is on or off
