Do all nikon lenses work with nikon cameras?

Hi, I just got a nikon d3100 with 18-55 lenses. My mom has an old nikon FE from around 1980 or so. I'm wondering if they will work on my camera. It says e series on them.

Also wondering what type of lenses I should get to record video outdoors on golf. I'm on a tight budget now but any suggestions would help.

Also wondering if anyone knows where I could get a good tripod for a low price.

You have an entry level camera (under $1, 000), so it can only use AF, AF-I and AF-S lenses. If you have an AF lens, it will not auto focus, so you will have to use the electronic rangefinder in the viewfinder

Nikon Cameras that are what are called "Mid Range", "High End Enthusiast / Semi-Pro" and "Professional"

Those cameras can use All AF, AF-I and AF-S lenses as well as any manual focus converted AI, AI and AIS lenses

Here is a link to an exact list of Nikkor lenses and which cameras they can be used

If you later (in three to five years) update your camera, look at the Nikon D7000 (or its replacement, D7100) and you will be able to use the most legacy Nikkor lenses

You can find good tripods for around $100 which include a 3-way head.

You can use the lens you already have to do video. As far as lenses are concerned, there's no difference between pictures and video. Just know how to use each lens properly.

You'd have difficulty looking for a tripod that won't fit your camera. Just go to any camera shop and get the biggest, baddest and heaviest you can afford. Any brand will do.
