Can't download on new Laptop?

I bought a Laptop today, a HP one… Latest. No idea of any of the info, as it didn't come with much except a box - anyway. I do make videos, and I use a Nikon D3100 and edit on Windows Movie Maker which was on my old Laptop which came with the editing site, but on this one I have to download the site and to be honest, I can't figure it out. I've downloaded Movie Maker (latest version) about 5 times, and it still doesn't show up. It has changed my internet search bar to Funmoods which now I can't seem to switch back to Google, even though I do change it in settings. I find the Movie Maker in my Laptop, click it, and it downloads again - yet each time it says "successfully downloaded"
What do I do? I need the site by tomorrow as I'm making another video tomorrow!

Open up the browser (preferably firefox)>Tools>Options>General Tab: Type in google into the "make homepage bar." That should set google as default homepage.

For the download do the same thing and go into the General Tab, below the default homepage bar there should be a section that says download. In the place were it says save as look at the destination. Most likely it is save in the downloads folder and you just didn't know. Try switching it to desktop so you can see the where and when the file is downloaded.

Edited: I skipped the part were you said you did it in settings. See if its an add on or extension in the tools tab. If not then it might be a program that was downloaded. Go to control panel and programs and see if its there.

Actually he may be right, just type in Windows movie maker into the search bar when you click the Start button.

Check your downloads folder, it should be located in 'Favourites' (left hand side) when you open up My Documents, or Computer. If not, go to My Computer => Your Hard drive => Users => (name) folder => Downloads. Click on the 'Setup' you downloaded, and it start the install.
