Can the Nikon D3200 survive Canada's climate?

I recently purchased a Nikon D3200 and I'm wondering if I'm able to take the camera out into the snowy conditions. As my friends and I go snowboarding quite often, would it be possible to take it up the mountain? Would the snow damage the camera? What sort of precautions should I take?

Just don't let the snow melt into the crevasses of your camera. If necessary buy a "rain sleeve".It is what we use when shooting in rain

What you will need to do, is buy a second battery to keep warm in a pocket close to your skin.

Once the battery in the cameras starts to fail, switch batteries. You can do this most of the day, since it is rare that you will shoot more than 300 photos in a day if you use shot discipline and shoot at the peak of action rather than machine gunning your friends.

Photographers have been shooting in the snow for decades and with minimum precautions, you can shoot all day with no harm to your camera

You might rather have a Pentax K-30 for the same price. It's weather-sealed and it also has a MUCH better viewfinder.
