Can I bring a DSLR into The Greek Theatre?

I'm going to a concert next week at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, and I want to bring in a camera. The only camera I have is a DSLR (a Nikon D3200). It's a smallish camera (for a DSLR), and I will have a prime lens on, but I'm afraid it is too 'professional' looking. I know the venue says no cameras with a detachable lens are allowed, but I've been to others venues that have stated that and there are TONS of people that still bring them in. What would they do if I still tried to bring it in? Has anyone ever been stopped and turned away because of it?

They'll take your camera and you can pick it up as you leave after the concert.

It says, "No cameras with detachable lenses," do you Really need any clearer than that?

Leave your camera at home.

The rule is clear. You're not meant to bring that kind of camera into the venue.

Do so and you risk it being confiscated on arrival or you might be ejected if found using it inside the venue.

What other people have done is at their own risk and if you copy them that's at your own risk.

It's a gamble. You have been warned! If you don't want the hassle, don't bring your camera. If you want to risk it, the worse they can do is tag your dSLR and leave it on a desk for you to claim later.

Ask the Greek Theatre directly. Only they know what will be allowed in.

Otherwise you can take the risk (against the stated policy), as others seem to have done. That is a personal choice.

So they allow Point and shoot, but disallow dSLRs? Are you serious? But it's your choice. People there don't really care about the rules anyways.

Frankly it is tough to get any kind of decent photos in a setting like the Greek theater unless you are sitting close to the stage or have been issued a special stage pass. Hve fun.
