Best Nikon camera for travel photography? No video?

Yeah title says it all

For travel photography
I'd prefer no video
I have a nikon d60 but i want to upgrade
I was thinking the d700?

The D700 is an excellent older full frame dSLR.

For less thant the cost of a D700, you can buy a new D600 with has the latest in technology and a better performing sensor. Whether you use the available video feature or not does not detract from the cameras usefulness as a still camera

The D700 could give a boost in quality. However for travel it is an increase in weight. You need FX lenses, and those will also weigh more.
