Best/Cheap Lens for Nikon D800?

I'm going over my budget to get a Nikon D800 and it doesn't come with a lens either. I need a cheap lens for Senior Photos and wedding photos on the dance floor which means lower lighting on the dance floor. Also if know of any cheap monitors I can use for the camera that'd help out a lot.

Don't compromise by getting a cheap lens on a good body. I recommend you buy a cheaper body (like the D610, which is still excellent) and go for a 24-70mm f2.8 to go with it.

The Status Is Not Quo is really right
The lens you need is probably the AF-S 24-70 mm f/2.8 and putting a "cheap" lens like a 18-55 mm DX lens (about $200) will work, but negates the quality of the D800.
Actually the Nikon D610 sells for less than $1,900, yet its sensor is actually excellent and a little better in low light situations.
With the savings by buying the D610, you can actually buy the 24-70 mm f/2.8 and remain within your budget

There's no reason to put a cheap lens on a pro camera… Go for the D610/D600 o whathever camera you can afford after you have bought the lenses you really need

Well for me if you really want some suggestion for that beauty, try nikon 35 f 2. Or 50mm f1.8.

A fast 50mm or 85mm will do what you want. Even the lowly 50mm f/1.8 will be good on that body, although it would be a waste of such a camera.
