Best beginner camera? - 1
I always wanted to get into photography and I also want to make some hd videos for my utube channel. What camera do you think would be best for video and photos? Right now i'm looking at the
Canon EOS Rebel T3i 18 MP and the Nikon D3100 14.2MP. What would you recommend around the $500 range?
I use and recommend the Canon t3i
Maybe adslr
Utube?
For video, the best is a digital camcorder. Longer shooting time and better autofocus. For photos, a fully-controllable camera like the dSLR if you know what to do with those controls. If not, a bridge camera will do.
There's no dSLR made for the beginner and the cheapest ones actually are more difficult to use but the D3100 brandnew is a glorious steal at the moment so I say go for it.
HD videos? PENTAX K-5. Only this camera produces high-quality HD videos and stores every frame in the video file.
They're like the same camera, but the T3i has manual controls in video while the D3100 does not. This can be a huge difference if you want to get better at videos. Photography and quality wise, it's all the same.

and i took this picture with my first camera, a KODAK EASYSHARE C195 Digital Camera

My first camera was the KODAK, and it's pretty easy to use with all the basic settings needed for a good picture, so I'd personally recommend this one for a beginner. The links I provided are for my favorite picture I personally took with each camera.
Then again, I'm only 15, so what do I know?
Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera
Pros:
- Excellent pictures (duh)
- great battery life (full day, 200+ shots)
- light weight, lighter than the D5000
