Which Lens should I use to record video on an Nikon D5000?

I have a Nikon D5000, and I was trying to shoot a video, but the video isn't very sharp and not very high quality… I have it setup to be 1280x720, and the ratio works, but it doesn't appear to be a crisp quality… Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong? Any settings I may have skipped over?

(I do have sufficient lighting, I belive!)

Nor should it be, at that setting.

Look at your cameras settings before you start shooting the video.

What you may consider sufficient lighting, may not be.

If you are shooting indoors, you need a minimum of two 500 watt continuous lights providing good even lighting by bouncing the light off a ceiling and/or wall. In addition, you need to replace any lamp light bulbs in the room with 250 watt lamps.

If you have that going for you, you should NOT get noisy video.

When shooting video, you must manually focus the lens and a nice LCD 3x loupe like the ones made by Hoodman should assure good sharp video

Sounds like it could be a focusing problem. The D5000 is an older camera and I don't know how the autofocus system works in video mode on that camera, but you may need to read the manual to find out. In some older cameras, autofocus doesn't work for video -- only manual focus.

The one you already have. Sharpness and quality depends on you. The camera and lens are only tools. To get the best quality of photo or video, you must always shoot with the best quality of light.
