My camera's a Nikon D5100 and I got a problem. The up and down button just stopped working all of a sudden and the info button is too hard to press. How do I fix it?

When you contact Nikon, be sure to confirm the shipping address. Also ask them "best" way to describe the problem. This will save the "tech" person who works on your camera time. This is important especially if the repair is not covered under warranty.

HOW TO SHIP YOUR CAMERA:
1. Dumpster dive for a box about 2-3x your camera's size.
2. Dumpster dive for shipping peanuts.
3. Pack your camera with a letter, including Your name, address, day time phone number, & email address, Camera name, model, and serial number.
a) in the letter explain defect as told to you on the phone
b) ASK FOR AN ESTIMATE, if out of warranty.
c) If in warranty, supply a copy of sales receipt and copy of warranty card.

Good Luck

P.S. Try and find a United Parcel Depot as packing and shipping places charge double shipping costs to handle this for you!
DO NOT TAKE your camera back to where you bought it, they also charge double what Nikon charges to handle it and what's worst, whether or not it is in warranty, your camera will sit around the dealers until somebody gets around to packing and shipping your camera! PLUS all manufacturers place customers cameras sent in for repairs by the customer AHEAD of repairs sent by dealers.

It takes extra effort on your part-just don't be lazy and the repair will be returned to you "weeks' sooner!
