Recommend me a lens for Milkyway Photography. My camra is nikon d5100 camera?

I have nikon d5100 camera. I want to buy a lens for Milkyway Photography please recommend me some Nikkor lens for this Photography…

Your 18-55 mm lens is just fine.

* Set it to 18 mm
* Manually focus the lens so that the stars are in focus
* Mount your camera on a sturdy tripod
* Make sure you are far enough away from city or village lights, away from light pollution
* Use a remote shutter release to prevent camera movement
* Set the cameras ISO to 400
* Stop the lens down two stops from wide open
* Take some test shots at 15 and 30 seconds. If the sky turns grey, you are overexposing your shots
* Turn on the "long exposure" noise reduction (NR) to lower the possibility of noise in the dark sky.

If you want a super wide angle view, then look at the Nikkor AF-S 10-24 mm lens and use the lens at 10 mm
