For taking pictures w/ friends, outfits, of food, & just stuff. Like the ones on tumblr. I like to blog them and I don't know what is best, I've been eyeing on samsung nx1000 camera, and nikon d90 ( I don't know which lens to get ). I have no idea what camera is best for me. I have had digital cameras, & I've used a dslr I've borrowed from a friend, the photos are better than digital cameras.that's why I want to get a camera other than digital. Please SUGGEST me cameras.

Added (1). I also like SONY NEX-5 (16mm + 18-55mm) 16.1 mp, CANON REBEL T2i or T3i, the samsung nx1000 has 20-50mm and 20.3 megapixels, and because @clam chowder told me dslr and is very expensive then I won't get a d90 anymore. But I still consider rebel, but I won't be buying other lenses for it.

Since they are such different cameras, it is hard to tell you which to choose.

The D90 was a classic in its day and certainly has more lenses available for it than the Samsung NX series cameras. But it was replaced by the Nikon D7000 in 2010 and soon the D7100.

You are going to have to visit a proper camera shop and see which you like the best, bottom line

Well I've been there! I'm going to kind of break it down for you as best I can.

You really need to first decide the usage of the camera. If its just for random shots around town, and facebook, twitter, etc, then you don't need a really technically advanced camera. Most basic point and shoots will work just fine for that.

If you plan on doing some serious amateur or hobbyist photography though, you either need to look at a very serious point and shoot with manual abilities like a canon g12, or you need to look at DSLRs. Nikon and canon all make similar cameras, and either brand is fine. If you did want to go the way of something a little more serious, I'd recommend a canon Rebel or Nikon d3000, and you'll want to get a basic 50mm 1.8 lens. That combination should serve you well until you get to where you know more about photography.

I tried to keep this short but give you some insight. I'm a professional photographer, and I want to tell you that photography is an expensive hobby and profession. If you are not sure yet, don't sink all the extra money into a DSLR setup yet.take 300 bucks or so and get on CL and find a good point and shoot. I'm partial to Canon, but I'd tell you to stick with either canon or nikon. Happy shooting, and I wish you the best!

The dSLR is a digital camera with all the controls needed to affect the quality of the picture. If the camera is not digital it most likely uses film.

If you are having second thoughts about getting a dSLR, consider this.

If you have a serious hobby on photography, go for DSLR.
