How to put photos from my Nikon D60 onto Facebook or email?

Just purchased a second hand Nikon D60, I put some photos onto the computer which worked fine but when I put them onto facebook or Email them they go extremely blurry. I have never had this problem before with other camera.

When you view your image files on the computer at 100% are they in focus then?

If not, then the problem is in how you are focusing the images using either the manual focus mode (using the electronic viewfinder) or using the auto-focus mode on the camera and lens

Otherwise, the problem is most likely something that happens when you post them on Facebook. Any image file that is posted on that social service will automatically be reduced in resolution, but that should not cause the image to become out of focus.

Look first at your skills using the camera.

If you do not have the user manual, then you can download one from the Nikon webiste

How many are you downloading? Try downloading just one file at a time. Also check your resolution setting. High resolution setting mean a lot of bits are being transferred and stored through the FB or email and this can cause issues with blurriness.

A good rule of thumb is that your images should be around 800 - 1200 pixel per inch on the long edge. If they're below 640, then they will start to look blurry.

Facebook does horrible things to photos. It has nothing to do with your camera. Facebook will resample your image so that it fits on their pages. It will also add lots of compression which will degrade the images.

If you want to share your photos, try a proper image sharing site like flickr instead.

Some email programs rescale images - rescaling (or resampling) and image always reduces the quality.
