How to detach the plug adapter from the MH-24 battery charger?

I was checking all the parts and accessories of my newly purchased Nikon D5100. I attached the plug adapter to the charger but I can't separate them anymore. The user's manual doesn't have any answer on this. Help please, it's been bugging me for almost a week now.
