Can i use old lenses on a Nikon d5000?
I mean, all manual focus old lenses… (don't know the terminology: L)
If i can, would there be a reason to avoid this?
You'll likely lose autofocus and metering and may need an adapter so it is only worth bothering if they are high-specification lenses to start with.

Modern entry level Nikons are really excellent with modern spec.lenses. Get Sony (Minolta fit) or Pentax if you want to go way back with lenses that will work from EBay.
No because the D5000 body do not have the exposure meter when you use the lens without CPU (old Nikkor lens pre-AF).
Your D5000 body is compatible 100% only with the autofocus lens that have the motor inside (Nikkor AF-S lens).
You can use the autofocus lens without motor (Nikkor AF D lens) but you must focus manually because D5000 body do not have a motor inside.
