Camera for taking notes at school?
I'm in college and I have pretty bad eye sight so I can't read half the board even when sitting in the front. I was thinking about buying a small video camera or digital camera or maybe even a new phone to zoom in and take video and pictures.
I would like to be able to record a lecture without anybody really noticing. I also want to be able to zoom in and still have a clear picture. Also a device that records video and also lets you take a picture while recording would be really nice.
Right now I'm using an ipod touch. It can't zoom without blurring and most of the pictures it takes are blurred without zooming. (I usually take pictures of a projector screen or whiteboard)
Iv been wanting to invest in a dslr nikon d5100, but I do not think that would be practical due to its size. What do you guys think, also what other devices could I use?
Added (1). I do wear glasses they are still not good enough.
Why have to try to keep up with lectures while snapping photos? That's a lot of work. I'd get my prescription rechecked and show up to class early enough to sit in the front row. That'd be the simplest (and least expensive) solution. I wouldn't shell out some bread for a particular lens just to take snaps of a blackboard…
But,
If I really needed to, I'd get a 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED AF-S VR. The best telephoto zoom for less than $500 you can get.
Why not just wear glasses?
There may well be restrictions on recording devices being used in the classroom.
Edit: Get your prescription checked & get a new pair then!
Just get your glasses sorted out properly.
Look up newelectronx hidden camera or something like that
