Can i have an adapter for lenses that doesn't have a focus motor built in?

I have a Nikon d5300 and i mistakenly bought the AF 50mm 1.8D, so i can't autofocus with it. Is there any way that i can purchase so it'll autofocus?

Nope. Sorry. Try exchanging it for the G version.

Nope. You either sell it & buy the AF-S version or you learn to manually focus. It's not hard - it's what all photographers had to do back in film days, there was no autofocus!

Never heard of such a device! I wish these idiot manufacturers would label there products so we could really know what fits what what does not. What has a manual diaphargm setting and what is an automatic setting. Instead of all this confusing letter baloney. I paid $500 for a 70mm lens for my Pentax. I got a good deal from the aspect of a truly sharp lens but my lens does not have the curved iris diaphragm blades of todays 70mm's. Therefore there's no BOKEH effect. I got ripped off!

The "bad news" is that there's no such adaptor. You'll need to either manually focus or buy a Nikon 50mm AF-S lens.

The good news is that the Nikon 50mm AF-D is very popular and in high demand. You should have no problem reselling it for what you paid or even more.

A device you could buy to make the 50mm f1.8D autofocus is the Nikon D7100. A device that could make a 50mm prime lens moderately versatile is the Nikon D600.

None.

Sorry but you can get a cheap secondhand Nikon D50 to make that lens work in autofocus mode.

Just return it if still possible or resell. It's very much in demand.

No. Your options are to return the AF 50mm f/1.8D and buy the AF-S 50mm f/1.8G or learn to manually focus the AF 50.

Note: Had you bothered to read the Owner's Manual for your camera you'd have known that only Nikon's AF-S lenses will auto focus on your D5300.
