Can I buy a DSLR from Amazon USA and ship it to london?

I'm going to buy a Nikon D5300 18-140 and I found out that it is much cheaper if I buy it from the US amazon rather then UK Amazon I save about 256£ (1046$ in the us and 879£ in the uk) I'm new to online shopping, and I have no idea if buying it from USA and should be get to London possible?

Any goods bought from a non EU country will attract VAT which is payable on the total cost which includes purchase price, any insurance and postage. There will also be an admin charge applied by the UK carrier. All this has to be paid before customs will release anything. All in all you will save a few pounds but nothing like the £256 price difference.

Yup, the UK price includes import duty and VAT, the US one doesn't.

The postie won't hand over your camera until you give him a VERY large amount of money.

Have you factored in the VAT and import duty when you bring it into the UK?

And have you worked out what it means for the practical working of your warranty?
