Best lens for Nikon J3?

A friend of mine has a Nikon J3 body only and needs to buy a lens. Any recommendations?

Hi apart from what nikon supply he might be very limited as the body has a lot more electrical contacts than a dslr body.

Of those, I'd probably go for the VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 PD-ZOOM, just for the versatility.

I have a Nikon V1 with several lenses plus the FT1 adapter (which allows me to use most Nikon DSLR lenses).

I use the V1 mostly for video though as it excels even most DSLRs in that regard. I mostly use the 10-30mm lens. If you want to use the J3 for general purpose use, buy both the 10-30 and 30-110mm lenses as they will give you a wide range of zoom at the least cost.

You can usually find them refurbished for around $100 each. Check www.cameta.com, www.robertscamera.com, www.adorama.com, and www.bhphotovideo.com as they typically have the most offerings in refurbished lenses.
