Cannon's are guns of war. The Canon brand makes cameras and ANY one of them is excellent material for good photographs. It just depends on how much you want to get into taking and displaying your photographs.

A cannon is a weapon of war… Canon is a camera company.

Being a Canon user and loyalist I recommend anything Canon, especially their line of dslr cameras. So yes, I'd say the dslr cameras are always an excellent choice.

Yes, but Nikon, Sony and Pentax are also good choices, depending on what you require.
