Are professional digital cameras allowed at NYC comic con?

I'm going to comic con this weekend for the first time and I just want to make sure I can bring my Nikon SLR camera without a press pass

For the most part, you're welcome to take still pictures and video at New York Comic Con; however, please note that all photography and recording is prohibited during screenings and concerts. Also, please understand that guests may or may not pose for photographs with fans. Guests have a right to their privacy, and if they ask not to have their picture taken, please respect their wishes.

It doesn't say anything about not bringing one as long as you respect privacy and not use it during screenings and stuff.
